I went here and it was a really good experience honestly. I went there intending to get better as quickly as possible to get out and relapse but after I was there for a bit I made great friends and found better outlets to channel my worth into than my body. The staff are all very sweet and I went through a depression episode once I was discharged because I got a lot more attention there than I do regularly. They also give very specific compliments that aren’t related to your body. I walked in scared that I’d be forced to recover and walked out scared that I’d relapse.
Does anyone know if this is an FBT program?
What does FBT mean?
Family-based treatment (sometimes called the maudsley method)
Family Based Treatment. Parents / other relatives take charge of nutrition and feeding. The patient’s only job (at least at first!) is to eat. When you were discharged from this program, did you have a meal plan you were responsible for following or did you parents prepare/plate your meals?
I am responsible for logging and eating my meals and snacks but my parents still eat dinner with me to make sure I am!
Oh than slightly? When youre in php the techs and nutritionists are in charge of what you eat but you don’t make it or set up the meal plan until later in treatment. You eat all of your meals in the clinic except for evening snack. You get a list of 3 dislike foods at the start of the program that they aren’t allowed to cook with. Once you’re discharged Family doesn’t plan out the meals entirely because they give you proportions of each food group needed for meals once you’re discharged but you get a say too and can ask your parents which foods you want.
This is not an FBT program according to ERC Denver.
