Dear Family and Friends of NEDA,
We invite your valuable input!
NEDA is pleased to announce a unique and exciting relationship with Optum®, a leading information and technology-enabled health services business, to gather our members’ opinions, thoughts, concerns, complaints and recommendations about eating disorders treatment through the attached survey. Optum® developed this survey with NEDA’s input to learn what’s important to individuals and their families so we can develop more effective treatments, improve access to care and generate better treatment outcomes.
All survey responses are confidential and your email address will not be shared with Optum® or anyone else as part of the survey. Responses are due by November 15, 2012.
Please feel free to distribute this survey to others who you believe may want to share their opinions. There are three versions of the survey:
1) for an individual who has struggled with an eating disorder (AN, BN, EDNOS or BED);
2) for the family members of someone with an eating disorder; and
3) for anyone who has lost a loved one to an eating disorder.
Click here to take the survey now.
Please note, if you are a treatment professional who has struggled with an eating disorder, you are welcome to complete the questionnaire designed for individuals. However, please note that in the near future we plan to distribute a separate survey designed for treatment professionals.
After we have gathered your responses, NEDA and Optum® will work with researchers and providers to identify areas of consensus about what constitutes effective treatments or where approaches are falling short. In the future, we hope to share what we learn with health care organizations and treatment providers across the country so more people with eating disorders can get better and live healthy lives.
Please complete this survey at your earliest convenience, no later than November 15, 2012.
Thank you in advance for your help with this – your responses could play a significant part in affecting positive change in the field of eating disorders, and toward providing more successful treatment outcomes to our patients in the future.
