Rise Recovery is a hospital-based medical stabilization program for eating disorders. It currently has beds at two locations in Austin, TX, and two locations in Nebraska. Often their clients will stabilize with Rise Recovery and then once medically stable they transfer to a traditional eating disorder inpatient or residential treatment program. Rise Recovery is also in the process of building a new 10-bed facility dedicated solely to eating disorder medical stabilization. Unlike many other medical stabilization programs in the country, this program only takes voluntary patients who are motivated to actively participate in their recovery.

I called today (November 12, 2025) and they are still not taking ED patients despite it being present on their website
Are there any recent reviews for this place? What age do they take up too? What’s bathroom policy?
Unfortunately, they don’t take people with eds anymore 🙁
As of today (March 27,2025) they’re not accepting Eating Disorder patients. Not sure if that will change but their initial intake team has put a pause on accepting ED patients until further notice.

Thank you. I am looking for any review as well.
I was at their detox though which is how I heard about rise for ED and it seems they take all ages.
Trigger warning: can this facility hold you against your will like Acute?
No they cannot.
Thank you Esti! ❤️ Anonymous – Esti is a longtime treatment advocate and has talked to the director of Rise Recovery a number of times. She is a great resource. If you have more questions post them here and I’m sure she can answer many of them!
Nope! They are entirely voluntary and only work with patients who admit voluntarily. Last I heard they actually do the opposite of ACUTE and will discharge patients who aren’t motivated to stabilize.
They will try to discharge to Acute if a patient needs to be involuntary. However, they’ve only done this once, and they can’t force anyone to go, so leaving is always an option. Their stays are typically very short, usually lasting 2 to 3 weeks at most.
Has anyone been here recently who can give feedback?
Rise is now in network with Medicare and Texas Medicaid at their Brushy Creek and Cedar Park locations. Their Brushy Creek location is where they have their ED beds.
Does anyone have any reviews of this place? thanks!
I am going to visit there later this week. Please let me know any questions that you have and I’d be happy to try and get the answers.
I just left here if you have any questions
I’d love a general review of your experience. I just got cleared to go and would love your insight!
was the meal plan collaborative?
what did you do during the day ?
can you compare it to Acute?
are you able to go outside?
– As far as meal plan I was only there a few days but they pick for the most part
– as far as what we did during the day you met with some staff members but mostly nothing you don’t see other patients or go to groups or anything but you do get your phone/other electronics all day
– as far as being similar to acute id say it’s a decently lower level and not super eating disorder informed yet
– yes you were able to go outside basically whenever
Do you think you can do a full review? I toured the facility but would love to hear what it’s like from a patient’s perspective.
I’ve seen the reviews on here before but what’s like a full review?
Describe the average day:
Likewise! I almost admitted there 2 years ago and am still in touch w/the owners/founders, but they were definitely not equipped then and were never able to help me — I almost admitted 2-3 times. I’d love to hear about the specific food options and also, were you the only ED patient there? And did you eat alone or were you allowed to eat with family members/friends (and what was visitation like)?
@Cat
Describe the average day:
Will they tube for non compliance or just send you elsewhere.
They will tube on site but prefer not to they’ll try to support you the best they can’t most likely they would send out
While I believe they are a well-intentioned program, I think they are still working things out. Many of the staff (including the psychiatrist) were ill-informed at best about eating disorders and ill-equipped to address significant medical issues. It is very much geared toward substance abuse and detox. I do think they have potential to be a great program, but I would advise you to make sure it’s the right fit for you at this time.
Hi, I’m hoping you can clarify that they will honor a vegan client and provide dairy and meat alternatives. While there are more vegan friendly options these days, they do remain rare, especially for those limited by Medicare. Sometimes people answer “yes” to that question because a program honors vegetarian diets.
The fact they also accept TX Medicaid is awesome! Some states will only do a SCA if the program you propose to them accepts Medicaid in the state it’s located.
Im not looking for treatment myself, but I know that finding a medical stabilization option for adults over 30 is challenging, let alone one that also accepts Medicare, Medicaid, or vegan clients, —let alone all 3!
