I was here (Lombard, IL facility) March 4th – May 4th of 2024. They have a chef onsite that makes all meals. It is an open facility. Their ED treatment really focuses on eating as a whole group, and eating what you can without overthinking. There is a cooking class on Fridays, and you are allowed to watch food being made and talk to the chef and help out, but foods aren’t changed or anything for ED reasons. Most patients there are non-ED patients. Staff includes 2 therapists, one works Tu-Sa the other works M-Su, a teacher who is experienced with mental health stuff too who works M-F, the chef who works Tu-Sa, and a rotating cast of nurses to do meds. If you need the support, as I did early on, they can and will have a therapist sit with you while you eat, and you will play games at the table and talk about your meals. There’s a max of 10 patients at a time, and it is a mixed gender facility. It is an teenage facility, so only for ages 12-17. They use a tier system, and once you reach 4/5 out of a total of 5 your parents.therapist/nurse can take you on outings to restaurants/parks/anywhere really. This facility was really amazing and so helpful for me in recovery. I also deal with anxiety, bipolar 1, and PTSD. They have a really good trauma and ED therapist who I’m still in contact with. This is hopefully the last facility I will ever need to be in.
