Would anyone who has been there mind doing a review including rules and set up there
I did two months of res and one month of PHP. They are wonderful here. For breakfast, we are allowed to pick whatever foods we would like as long as it contains the 5 components. For snacks, we must pick at least two different components. Everyone gets the same lunches and dinners, but if you have dislikes or allergies you can communicate that with your dietician. What other specific questions do people have?

Looking into this program – do you know if they allow you to stay on the same meds you enter treatment on? What is the laundry situation like and are you allowed to carry your toiletries on you?
They don’t allow patients to be on stimulants for ADHD even if you’ve been on them for YEARS. they don’t give out benzodiazepines for anxiety even if you have a current rx. The medication provider was a virtual NP when i was there in April. One of the many reasons i left ama. I’m working on a review but it’s taking me way longer because it honestly was a horrible experience. There were 5 washers and dryers but people would leave their stuff in the dryer for days and we weren’t allowed to touch it so you’d have to wait for the clients to take it out, I’d have to ask people repeatedly everyday to move their stuff if i needed a washer. Like there was only 10 people there so idk why the washer dryer situation is so awful. This place is just unorganized all around. Your toiletries stay in your room/bathroom but some will be checked into contraband based on ingredients and you can check them out as needed.
I did an intake assessment with them and this is what II learned.
They take up to 20 clients but currently have 7, with a max of 10 because of staffing
They work a lot with the LGBTQ population and pride themselves on being a welcoming space for all. They are also a nonprofit which is cool.
There is 24 hour nursing and a psych NP and Medical NP who are on site Mon-Fri.
You have 2 therapy sessions a week, 1-2 dietician sessions, and 1 psych visit. They said therapists and dietitians are around for check ins. They said about half of the staff have previously worked in ED’s and some staff are new to the field.
Electronics are allowed 6am-7:30am and 8:30pm-10pm but they are willing to assess this when you move up levels and on a case by case basis.
You choose breakfast and snacks and lunch and dinner are the same for everyone.
They allow passes toward the end of treatment and weekend visitation is allowed after the first week.
They allow coffee if approved by your dietician.
Overall I got the vibe that they are really caring and individualized but probably still getting their feet on the ground. I have hope this could be a good program!
Do you know if their building is wheelchair accessible? It’s okay if you don’t know.
I know it’s a converted nursing home so I would assume so, but definitely call and ask.

My name is James and I just completed the program. They are cutting edge trauma informed with amazing food. There is tons of experience there at all levels of staffing. They saved my life.

I was wondering if the kids and adults are in separate groups or if everyone is together
Adults are fully separated. They have a separate adult wing and children’s wing. You don’t interact with kids at all. When i was there, there were 12 adults and only 1 kid. I think bc they weren’t taking insurance.
