Hello, I was interested in getting more recent experience with Children’s Health. My child is currently admitted to the hospital for Anorexia Nervosa and we are considering their ED program. If anyone can share what they liked or didn’t like about their child’s most recent stay, I would love to read more. Thank you.
My daughter was a patient in 2018 with a [redacted] low BMI. It saved her life. Although there have been difficult times since treatment, she has maintained her restored weight and is healthy. The staff was very supportive of the entire family.
Don’t trust Children’s Dallas system. They use CPS to bully families. Horrible nightmare!
Please post a review of your stay using the template available here on EDTR.
Saying don’t trust X program is an emotional statement, incites fear in those seeking treatment, and provides no fact based information about the program. This is NOT a review and NOT what this site is for. EDTR is not a support forum. It is for OBJECTIVE, fact-based reviews of treatment experiences.
Discouraging others from going to treatment is not pro-recovery and is not following the purpose of EDTR.
It sounds like discussing your negative feelings with a therapist would be helpful. There are also online support groups and text-based forums. This is not an appropriate space for that.
Think that’s something. My step daughter was admitted, they got her weight up and sent her out and said she needed long term treatment. We said ok and got a special insurance, found a residential treatment center that’s most suitable for her needs. However, [**TW**] her BMI was .5 low [**END TW**] and rules are rules. She needed to go back to inpatient and children’s Plano denied her!!!!! Knowing we have done everything needed and asked and provided a substantial amount up front for the treatment and they still turned her away. Never trust them.
Does anyone know how to post a review for a program that isn’t currently listed. I went to the ED program at Children’s Health in Plano, Texas and would like to leave a review.
