Eating Recovery Center (ERC) is a national treatment center with a number of locations across the country. This page is for their Sacramento, California location.
ERC provides all levels of care across their many locations, from inpatient, residential, PHP, IOP, transitional living, and virtual treatment. They are unique for offering every level of care, and are known for their intense specialty track called BETR that treats Binge Eating Disorder separately from the main ED track.
Some ERC locations also have a separate PHP and residential treatment program specifically for mood, anxiety, and trauma through their partner treatment center, Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center.

ERC California now accepts Medicaid via Single Case Agreements (SCAs)!
Has anyone been here recently that could give a detailed review on what to expect? I have severe chronic illness and will need a lot of accommodations.
Any recent reviews for the Irvine adult PHP program? Does anyone know how they set target weights?
i was there september of 2023-jan 2024. i really loved the staff there. They set weights based on your prior weight when not engaging in bx
for erc iop do you bring your own food or is it provided? specifically looking at irvine but i’m sure it’s the same across
Meal is provided
Any reviews on ERC Virtual IOP programs? I am in California and have completed RTC and PHP elsewhere. Want to do Virtual IOP.
I did an intake for ERC CA at the PHP level for anxiety, depression, and binge restrict cycles. I ask for accommodations, including using a heating pad during group for chronic pain related to PCOS and they denied me the accommodations. I also ask for liver once a week to help with my anemia and they denied that too. Is this program unaccommodating?
I’m trying to find a place for trauma and over eating..i would like a place where they teach you how to cook different meals to stay on trac..i would like to have more than one therapist visit than 1 a week..I have anthem blue cross looking for the best place anywhere in the USA ..there are too many to look into i would like to go ASAP..I would like a small group not lots of patients where I don’t get what I need
I know CFD eventually lets you cook your own meals but this was before COVID so I would call to ask. There, you see a therapist 3x/week. They don’t specialize in trauma but you might luck out with a good therapist. I’m sure there are other programs with meal prep but CFD is the first to come to mind.
Long time chronic ED babe trying to find treatment with crap insurance. Tl;dr I have Blue Shield of CA which is balls bc they hate giving any sort of care. I’ve done CFD (got bullied in their res) Renfrew LA (good experience at Coconut Creek bad at LA) and Alsana. My wrench is that I need somewhere wheelchair accessible that’s good with ARFID bc I’m in a wheelchair for non-ED reasons. Montecatini isn’t ADA compliant for chairs so I’m not really sure what my options are other than ERC CA which I’ve heard is…..not good. 🙁
If you’re ARFID then I actually recommend ERC, they’re the only place I’ve been to that actually takes care to provide individualized treatment to their ARFID patients.
Hi Allie, I have ARFID and am considering ERC in Sacramento, California, if you don’t mind sharing which location you went to that would be great! The reviews for ERC in sac aren’t too great, but it’s the closest one to me.
Kiki, I don’t know about CA but in Denver the program specifically can treat ARFID.
Hey, I hope to leave a full review soon but I will just say to please verify ERC Denver actually works on ARFID- I was there with obvious ARFID symptoms and they left me with so much trauma and PTSD I’m still suffering from it months later.
I have arfid and went to the California location if u have any questions! you can also email me at autumnmillz02@gmail.com
what ERC? or is it all locations
Seconding ERC! If you go to Denver they are definitely ADA compliant.
