Describe the average day:
Does anyone have experience with LaLuna as a stepping down point? I am trying to get in as a step down but am quite anxious due to negative residential experience…
Does anyone have experience with La Luna? I’m considering PHP in Fort Collins. Thanks!
I’ve done PHP in Boulder and I honestly can’t say enough good things about La Luna.
The staff cares a lot – and balance kindness and helpful nudges so well.
The PHP program is only 30 hours a week which isn’t a lot compared to other programs. In my experience it seemed like most people in program end up stepping up to higher levels of care, but it’s a great landing pad if you just need to have a starting point.
Might seem random, but I thought one of the best (and recovery-helpful) parts of La Luna was that their meals are catered from local restaurants — a mix of small businesses and chains. It was SO helpful to have places and foods that I knew that I liked — and that I knew what a meal looked like from there.
Best of luck!
Thank you so much for this information! I’m in outpatient right now (not with La Luna) and my team is really pushing a higher level of care. I only have experience with outpatient, so this idea is HLOC is really overwhelming. I like the idea of having that structure during the day in their PHP while still being part of the “real world” and having opportunities to practice skills with a safety net. I also live very close to the Fort Collins location so that’s a huge plus for me too. That’s so reassuring to hear that you had a good experience and that it could be a good stepping stone in general for HLOC. And I love that piece about the food! Thank you again! 🙂
